  I custom ordered a sofa from DecOrleans. Only after it had arrived, I realized that the custom pillows that the clerk up-sold, did not fit on the sofa.
  
  One would only trust that the LIND manufacture would make pillows that fit proportionally on their sofas. Not the case.
  
  After much dialogue, the only solution DeOrleans offered was that I purchase the proper size pillows at the wholesale price, plus tax. They would not have any expense on their mistake.
  
  This is an extra expense of $1000.00 on the purchase.
  Is this up selling or the poor product knowledge by store clerks?
  
  In the end, DecOrleans is walking away with their profits, while the customer pays for their mistake.
  
  DecOrleans is not the only place to purchase similar furniture in Ottawa.
  
  Now the owner is mad about the my review on the internet so refuses to sell me the pillows at his initial offer.
  
  I have even offered to remove this review.

  By law, you can return the product because the parts does not fit properly, they cannot ask you to pay more because of their/manufacturer problem. If you are dining in a fine restaurant and one cook make a huge mess and they need to waste a lot of pork, will you agree to pay more for your beef? Of course not, neither should you agree to pay more for your couch and pillows. If they do not want further business with you and you already paid, you can sue them and you will win. The price that you both agreed on when you paid, is a verbal contract, and it is for all the parts. I thank you very much for letting the other people around know of their bad behaviour. I do not happen to find your post by mistake, I was a potential customer, I was looking for a full family room furniture... and not a cheap one. Maybe, I will still go into that shop, but I do not think that it is worth the risk of having to deal with thieves, because that is what they are if what you are saying is true. I think they should even rebate you the couch because they are late, they simply don't know how to treat customers and that's what keep them open, they are living because of us. So I won't be a fool, going there, being a prey. I say, if they do it once, they'll redo it again. Just like a robber that says that it was his first time stealing a bank. I hope everything will end well for you.
  
  I will remove this post when yours will be removed.
